| 1984 – | Paton Controls is established as an I/E specialty engineering company serving Petrochemical customers in the Sarnia, Ontario area |
| 1990 – | Paton enters the food and beverage industry specializing in controls and automation |
| 1992 – | Paton broadens its customer base adding refining and pipelines segments |
| 1996 – | Paton establishes multi-discipline engineering capabilities and expands to the Gulf Coast |
| 2008 – | Paton further expands on the Gulf Coast with two offices in Texas (Houston and Port Arthur) |
| 2008 – | Paton launches a Construction division and begins delivery of E&C services |
| 2011 – | Expansion into Onshore Upstream Oil and Gas services |
| 2014 – | Paton changes its name to Paton Engineers and Constructors |
| 2014 – | Paton Begins work in Strathcona, Alberta |
| 2016 – | Paton Begins work in Rotterdam, Netherlands |
| 2017 – | Paton Begins EPC in Sarnia, Ontario |
